'Newly born' portrait package

There is so much is happening at this time and so our 'NEWLY BORN' portrait package is spread out over
four photoshoots; the first during the 32 - 36th week of pregnancy, the second at birth, the third at 3 months(first smile) and the final session at 6 months(traditional portrait time).

1) Pregnancy Portrait 32 -36 weeks approx
The first photoshoot is a pregnancy photosession with yourself, the bump and your choice of either your partner, birthing partner, friend or other children. In other words, whoever is involved with your pregnancy at this stage and would like to share this fun photoshoot. We do it at about 32 - 36 weeks of pregnancy before the bump becomes unmanageable but is still big enough to be counted! Stretched marks and blemishes (often piercings) can be digitally removed. Your body changes so much at this incredible time and it is lovely to be able to show your child one day, how they looked, nestled away inside your tummy!

2) Newborn Portrait approx 7-21 days
The second photoshoot, Newborn Stage happens at about ten days! We capture that newly born look that rapidly disappears forever - photographing the baby before it unfurls; almost still foetal but able to open it's eyes and gaze at the camera.

Trained as a midwife; this is an area of photography that benefits from this specialist experience and the results are unique and priceless because your baby is changing so quickly. The mum spends most of this shoot with her feet up drinking tea and this is when the partners do the bulk of the posing with the baby (holding feet for example) - something to look forward to!

Using specialised macro lenses, we include a baby montage at the newborn photoshoot, this is a collection of different views of your baby, showing close-ups of the tiny fingers, wriggly toes, soft, sometimes furry neck folds and wrinkly tummies. All of which disappear by about 21 days and are easily forgotten but part of what makes your baby so unique.

Many different styles of photography are available for the newborn portrait shoot, from the soft and romantic, low key style to the more contemporary white background with bright colours. The pictures can be used for starting the baby album, birth announcement cards or Christening invitations and even screensavers at work! Our new mums say that the shoot is a unique experience and a lot of fun.

3) 'First Smile' portrait approx 3months
Finally, you are now starting to enjoy parenthood and we invite you back again for the final stage, the 3 month Portraits. This is when we capture your baby's first smiles and document the changes that have happened over the last three months. No longer curled up and sleepy, your baby is becoming more sociable and interested in the world around them, expressions change frequently and it is also a good time to introduce their siblings to the studio.

4) 'Meet the family' portrait 6 months
We complete our newly born package at 6 months - a natural break in your baby's development as they graduate from just smiling to becoming very mobile and capable of doing many different things.

At this stage we focus on the more traditional style of portrait that makes great gifts for grandparents and to mark half a year's development.
|
|
This is a good time to introduce the rest of the family - brothers and sisters can be proportionally very big in a portrait of a tiny baby so we advise on waiting until 6 months before we try and do the formal family session. Grandparents are also welcome to join in at this stage as by now, babies have realised who their friends are and who to charm...
